Congratulations to James Luxon, who successfully completed his Qualifying Cross Country (QXC) flight on Sunday, 11th May 2025, flying the club’s C152, G-BHZF.
Taking off from Southend, James navigated his solo route to Shoreham and Lydd, landing at both aerodromes before returning safely to base—a key milestone on the path to earning his Private Pilot Licence (PPL). Covering over 150 nautical miles and demonstrating solid airmanship, planning, and radio work, James’s flight marks a major step in his training and one that every pilot remembers.
The QXC is a test not just of flying ability, but of confidence and decision-making under real-world conditions. James handled it all with professionalism and focus. His instructors and fellow club members are proud to see the hard work paying off.
Well done, James! We look forward to celebrating your first solo passengers soon.
