As the warmer weather starts to settle in, May has been a month of major milestones and memorable moments for our club members. From personal achievements in the cockpit to large community gatherings and impressive group flyouts, we’ve got a lot to celebrate!

✈️ Skills Test Success

We’re thrilled to announce that one of our student pilots has passed their Skills Test! This marks a huge step forward on the journey to becoming a qualified pilot. A massive congratulations – your hard work and dedication have paid off, and we can’t wait to see where you fly next.

🗺️ Cross Country Completion

Another highlight was seeing a pilot complete their Qualifying Cross Country flight, an essential milestone in the PPL (Private Pilot Licence) training. It’s an incredible achievement that showcases growing confidence and capability in the skies.

🍔 VE Day BBQ – 50+ Attendees

Our VE Day BBQ was a roaring success, with over 50 attendees joining us for great food, good company, and plenty of aviation chatter. It was fantastic to see members old and new mingling, sharing stories, and enjoying a sunny day at the airfield.

🛫 14-Aircraft Strong Flyout to Sandown

In what may be one of our most impressive group events to date, 14 aircraft took to the skies for a club flyout to Sandown. The sheer size of the flyout demonstrated the strength of our flying community and made for an unforgettable day out on the Isle of Wight. Stunning views, smooth coordination, and lots of smiling faces made this event one for the books!

Onward to June!

We’re so proud of everything our members have accomplished this month, both in the air and on the ground. As we head into June, we’re looking forward to more training milestones, social events, and of course—plenty of flying.
